Memesis Artifex
An ecstatic descent into the canon of the unserious, Memesis Artifex reconfigures the detritus of online life into gilded frescoes of fractured identity. In this series, digital shorthand is sanctified, memes are immortalized as devotional panels, and the absurd becomes sacred through ritual repetition. Each work is an act of aesthetic transubstantiation: a low-resolution cultural artifact reborn through painterly reverence and typographic aggression. Here, we find theology in sarcasm, martyrdom in memes, and the baroque theater of selfhood staged in the flickering light of a cracked screen. The simulacrum doesn’t mock reality, for it replaces it with something far more divine.
